Greene County 5k helps patients fighting cancer

XENIA, Ohio (WDTN) – Hundreds of people took strides against cancer in Greene County.

The annual Circle of Victor 5k took place in Xenia Sunday.

The money raised goes to help patients fighting cancer in Greene County.

“We help with prosthetics, maybe some medications, even transportation to and from treatment,” said Donna Saraga who helps coordinate the event. “The things patients need, those burdens that other funding doesn’t cover.”

Organizers say, on average, cancer patients in the Miami Valley spend about $700 a month on expenses not covered by insurance.
