PhilharMonster brings Halloween to Dayton

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Halloween has come early as a Dayton orchestra celebrates the season.

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra celebrated its annual PhilharMonster Halloween concert.

To go with the Halloween theme, some classic theme songs were played. A costume contest also brought fun to visitors.

“Our conductor Neal Gittleman is all about PhilharMonster,” said Gloria Pugh with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance. “It’s always a deep dark secret about what he’s going to be. As he comes in, there’s always some big grand entrance. The audience is in costume and it’s just a fun.”

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra is planning another themed night in February. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
