RIVERSIDE, Ohio (WDTN) – A driver was seriously injured in a accident with a semi Friday afternoon.

Riverside police say the driver of the vehicle, 47 year old Lisa K. Flynt, slammed into the side of the tractor trailer while leaving Serro Place on Valley Street.

The car slid under the rear of the trailer and the driver was ejected.

Flynt was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with what police said were life threatening injuries. As of Sunday morning, she was in the ICU unit.

Officers said she was not wearing a seat belt.

A passenger in the car was wearing her seat belt.

She was hurt, but has been released from the hospital.

The tractor trailer is owned and operated by USF Holland Trucking. The Ohio State Highway Patrol has been called to examine the tractor trailer.

Police say all parties involved have been cooperating with the investigation.

A preliminary crash report is expected to be released Monday afternoon.
