Frost advisory in effect for Sunday morning

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A frost advisory has been issued from 2 a.m. until 10 a.m. Sunday.  Clouds will clear overnight allowing temperatures to drop into the low and middle 30’s.

If you have any tender vegetation you may want to bring it indoors or cover it up.  However the growing season is almost over.

“The average first freeze date for Dayton is around October 19th,” says Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings.  “Frost has occurred as early as the beginning of October and as last as November in Dayton.”

There is a freeze watch in effect farther north of Dayton as temperatures will likely dip around the freezing mark.

After a chilly start temperatures will stay in the 50’s during the afternoon with lots of sunshine.
