Suspect in custody after breaking into Family Dollar

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is in custody after police said he broke into a Dayton dollar store.

Police were called to the Family Dollar located at 1130 North Main Street around 2:15 a.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they found a window had been smashed by a rock and the suspect was inside the store near the register. When the suspect saw police, he ran from the scene. Police caught up with the suspect and ordered him to stop running. The suspect refused and officers tased him.

Police arrested 39-year-old Malik Wilkinson. He faces charges of breaking and entering and obstructing official business. He was booked into jail.
