Chief: Fire likely started by squatters

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A vacant apartment house was damaged by fire Tuesday.

Fire broke out inside the four structure at 158 Linden Ave. around 5:30 p.m.

The district fire chief at the scene said the fire was likely started by squatters attempting to heat the house or cook food.

No one was in the house when fire fighters arrived.

No one was injured.

The cost of damage to the house is $10,000.
