DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The first phase of Procter and Gamble’s hiring process is set to begin Monday.

According to Mark Anderson with WorkForce Development, they will begin filling about 80 jobs for the distribution center set to open this winter at Union’s Global Logistics Airpark. Anderson said they expect the center to employ 1,300 people by fall next year.

Anderson tells 2 NEWS Investigates, the type of jobs being filled first are forklift operators, clerical administrators and picker packers. He said these jobs are essential in getting the warehouse going.

The contract logistics provider Exel will be holding a hiring event at the Dayton Job Center on October 27th, from 9am-2pm. You have to schedule an interview with OhioMeansJobs to attend.

To do that go to ohiomeansjobs.com/montgomery and look for the “Find a Job” Button. They ask that you register as a new user or log in to your account and then type EXEL in the keyword search area. Click on “Logistics Opportunities @ P&G Distribution Center.” Click “Apply” and then “Submit” and you will receive information.  You are then asked to attend the orientation and screening.

Anderson said they expect to have additional hiring events in the next month.

The site is owned by Prologis and the workforce will be hired by Exel and Quality Associates.
