DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A motorcyclist was killed in an accident in Dayton Thursday afternoon.
Investigators told 2 NEWS the man lost control on McCall Street and crashed near the intersection of Resaca Avenue.
The victim, member of the Young Bloods Motorcycle Club, was dead at the scene when police and medics arrived around 4:10 p.m.
Police said he was not wearing a helmet and that speed was likely a factor.
2NEWS spoke with his fellow club member who say the man was leaving from the clubhouse after having lunch.
“(He was) Just outgoing. Just caring, very considerate, compassionate just all outgoing. He was just a good guy, beautiful smile, good heart. I don’t have anything bad to say about him you know. We gonna miss him. We gonna miss his smile and we gone pull together, you know, as a family,” described Young Bloods club member Rhonda Jones.
Jones has been a member of the bike club since 1997 and says having a member leave like this is tough.
“It’s devastating cause we’re a family. We’ve — a lot of us have been around each other a long time. A lot of us is around each other more than our families sometimes, you know, so it’s very devastating. We just lost another club brother the end of August on (I-) 35 so it’s kind of a hard bite to swallow,” she said.
The exact cause of the crash is still being investigated.
