HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN)– Many residents are upset about trick-or-treat falling on the same night as the Wayne Warriors’ rival game against Centerville.
Friday, October 31, the Warriors will play at Centerville– the same night both areas will hold trick-or-treat.
Courtney Shrout, a mother of four, said she’s in a predicament along with many other Huber parents. Shrout’s two younger brothers play football at Wayne High School.
“I just was like, really? Of all nights of the year. If if it was a different game it wouldn’t be as big of a deal, but this is their biggest game of the season.”
Shrout has been supporting her brothers since they were three years old, playing sports at the YMCA.
Huber Heights residents have been using social media to discuss the dilemma.
“Obviously I’m not going to expect them to move trick or treat for me, but it was hard because it’s the last Wayne-Centerville game I’ll ever get to see them play together.”
Shrout hoped the city would have been more mindful of the events landing on the same night.
One group is hosting a “Trunk-or-Treat” as an alternative. It will be Wednesday, October 29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the BW3’s in Huber Heights.
