HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) – New technology is making a trip to the dentist less painful and a Huber Heights dentist uses the method.

The device is called Spectra – a much lighter way to find tooth decay. A no digging technology that also means less drilling time.

Dr. Scott Phillippi doesn’t use the the usual stainless steel sharp tool that gets scraped along your gums, looking for cavities.

Instead, he uses a Doppler device that he says works similar to what television meteorologists forecast weather.
