NEW YORK, NY (WDTN) – General Motors is offering a $25 gift card to people who drive a GM on the recall list for faulty ignition switches.

GM says it is an incentive for customers to get the repairs done.

More than 2.5 million vehicles with faulty ignition switches were recalled. GM says a little more than half were repaired so far.

Owners who get the repair at dealerships by December 1 will receive a code to go online and select the gift card from several retailers including Amazon, Walmart and Starbucks.

The faulty switches have been connected to 30 fatal crashes.

The recall includes Cobalts, HHRs and Saturn Ions among other small models.
