BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – The Beavercreek Planning Commission is taking up the issue of new construction at the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

The commission is scheduled to address future plans for the mall at Wednesday evening’s meeting.

The mall wants to demolish the former Elder Beerman store to make way for several restaurants.

Elder Beerman consolidated its stores into one space earlier this year, leaving an anchor unit vacant.

Our partners at the Dayton Business Journal report that the plan is for five new restaurants to fill the void, although the restaurants have yet to be named.

If approved, the first restaurant could open by the fall of next year.

The planning meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
