Ritchie sentenced for stealing guide dog

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The woman who stole a guide dog was sentenced Thursday.

Bonnie Ritchie, 22, admitted that she stole the dog from a Dayton yard and sold it on Craigslist.

She was sentenced to 14 days in jail on top of time already served.  She was sentenced to 50 days total.

The man who bought the dog saw the story in the news and returned it to its rightful owner.

Sheryl Williams owns Diamond.  She was in court for the sentencing.  She is satisfied with the sentenced and glad the case is closed.
