DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Glenn Costie is back at the helm of the Dayton VA after spending four months at the same facility in Phoenix, Arizona.
Costie was on loan to Phoenix because that Va was embattled and scandal ridden.
Some Phoenix area veterans complained of long waits to get medical attention, this included some claims deaths were connected to the extensive delays in care.
Costie said what was most at issue in Phoenix was the break of trust with vets and also staff who felt pressured to perform without many resources.”
One of his accomplishments is increasing the number of veterans getting medical attention by six percent and the no longer have to wait for extended periods of time.
Now, his full attention is on keeping Dayton’s VA moving forward, making sure vets get what they need and making sure whatever the VA can’t offer, the surrounding community can.
