DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton police believe a man was shooting up drugs when he crashed his car late Friday morning.
Officers said the man had a needle in his arm when they found his crashed car on Liscum Drive between US 35 and Third Street.
According to officials, the man overdosed on heroin, crashed into a light pole, then hit a tree.
Police said the driver was unresponsive until Narcan was issued by medics.
He was taken to the Miami Valley Hospital for treatment.
There was no one else hurt.
Police said they found a needle and several gel caps with heroin inside scattered throughout the car.
The driver was issued a summons for drug possession and possessing drug abuse instruments.
