Suspect hits store twice, caught by worker

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A man is behind bars after reportedly stealing from at Dayton convenience store twice in one day.

Roger Lane, 53, was arrested on theft charges.

Police were called to the People’s Market located at 2010 North Main Street Saturday after 5:30 p.m.

According to police, surveillance video showed Lane shoving multiple white thermals down the front of his pants and leaving without paying for the merchandise.

Officers said he came back a couple hours later and picked up a box of mouse traps and shoved it in his jacket sleeve.

The store employee stopped Lane and the merchandise was recovered.

Lane was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.

He was also wanted on a warrant out of Huber Heights for failure to appear for a theft incident.
