Carl Graber, 33, of Sidney was taken into custody without incident Monday, Nov. 10 at 2:11 p.m. at the intersection of Vandermark and Russell roads in Sidney.

The crash happened Saturday, Nov. 8 around 11:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Lindsey Road.

When deputies arrived, they found a 2003 Ford F-150 heavily damaged and blocking the roadway.

According to investigators, Graber was driving south on Lindsey Road and traveled over the CSX railroad tracks at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then lost control, veered off the road and slammed into a tree before coming to a rest in the middle of the roadway. Officials said the passenger in the vehicle, 23-year-old Brittany Elliott of Sidney was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the crash.
