DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN)- Deer hits in Greene County within 10 minutes of each other remind drivers deer are out in full force and you need to be careful behind the wheel.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources says it’s not a good idea to swerve when you are confronted by a deer. It can cause you to end up in oncoming traffic or in a ditch.
It’s smart to know deer season – October through December are the prime months. In five surrounding counties, there have been 160 deer crashes from the first of October to Monday, November 10th.
Brett Beatty of the ODNR says be aware in certain areas, there are more deer. If you are rolling through town you are less likely to encounter deer than in the countryside.
