DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Firefighters were called to a vacant house after flames sparked inside.

Crews were called to the 3000 block of East Third Street around 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

When officials arrived, they spotted smoke coming from the second floor of the duplex.

They said they had concerns battling the fire because of occupied buildings on both sides of the duplex.

Crews were able to douse the flames with no damage to surrounding buildings.

Officials haven’t determined how the fire started, but they are calling it suspicious. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
