HUBER HEIGHTS, Ohio (WDTN) — UPDATE (11/24, 5:20AM): Huber Heights Police has released a picture/name of the suspect involved in Sunday night’s home invasion. According to a recent press release–a temporary warrant has been issued for Matthew Short. He is still on the loose. Police tell us they believe he has shaved his beard since surveillance footage caught him on-camera at the UDF on Taylorsville Road.
UPDATE: Huber Heights Police are asking you to be on the lookout for this man. They say he is the suspect in a home invasion earlier this evening in the 7600 block of Taylorsville Road. They say he could be armed and dangerous. Police released this image from surveillance video from the UDF on Taylorsville Road at Brandt Pike, where they say he appeared bloody when buying cigarettes and a coke. They’re asking people in the area of Taylorsville near Brandt Pike and San Fernando Road to lock their doors and call police immediately if you spot him. They say the suspect appears to be the only person hurt following the exchange of gunfire with police, and a standoff.
UPDATE: Our crew on the scene tells us Huber Heights Police Lt. Matt Dulaney says there is currently an armed suspect in a home in the 7600 block of Taylorsville Road. He says police were originally dispatched to the home on a burglary call, and were met with gunfire when they arrived. Dulaney says no officers were hurt. Our crew says law enforcement from multiple municipalities are on scene, including SWAT. Police say they’re talking with two people who were reportedly in the home. No word of any evacuations of nearby homes.
Officers have been dispatched to the 7600 block of Taylorsville Road for some kind of incident. A 99 was dropped signifying an officer in trouble call.
