OVI checkpoint conducted Wednesday night

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the OVI Task Force started the holiday weekend off with a sobriety checkpoint Wednesday night.

It ran from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. in the 5900 block of North Dixie Drive.

The OVI sobriety checkpoint resulted in one child restraint citation, and three driving under suspension/no operator license citations. No OVI arrests were made.

The accompanying saturation patrols resulted in one OVI arrest, three driving under suspension/no operator license citations, and two other citations.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and agencies of the Combined Agency OVI Task Force will have additional officers on the roadways throughout the Thanksgiving holiday patrolling for impaired drivers.

The Ohio Department of Public Safety recorded 10 alcohol related crashes in Harrison Township this year. Eighteen people were hurt. One was killed.
