DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – For Pete Lewis, looking at pictures of his younger brother Jeff, is difficult. The 54 year old was found dead inside his England Avenue home on Nov. 17. Pete says he’s haunted by the unknown.

“I think about it a lot,” says Lewis. “I sit up and imagine how it could have happened or why. But, I don’t have answers because he wasn’t that type of person.”

Jeff was a maintence worker and had a close group of friends.

Detectives say there were no signs of forced entry into his home, so they question if Jeff may have known his killer.

“It could have been someone he knew or someone had knocked on his door that he had let in. We are not really sure as to the details right now,” says Det. Cayce Cantrell.

Investigators are confident someone knows exactly what happned and who is responsible.

“Very rarely does a killer ever keep everything to themselves,” Cantrell says.”It could be a girlfriend it could be a family member maybe a friend or someone who was innocently involved who didn’t know what was going on.”

Regardless of who comes forward, it’s the information police and family need most.     Not only so justice can be served, but, also so Jeff’s brother can finally rest.

If you know who killed Jeffrey Lewis call 222-7867.
