BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Beavercreek police have identified the man who they say tried to steal a computer right from under Walmart employees’ noses.

Officers say the man loaded the computer onto a shopping cart at the Pentagon Boulevard store and walked it through the self-checkout aisle, but never bought the item.

Alert employees tried to stop the man, but he got away after a short scuffle.

Captain Eric Grile said a person called the police department and identified the man after seeing the story on the news.

The suspect has not been taken into custody, so if you have information, contact Beavercreek police at 937-426-1225 if you recognize the man in the photo.
