Springboro students score awards at robotics competition

SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) — Some Springboro students who’ve been working hard for months walk away from a robotics competition with some big awards.

Students competed in Saturday’s big robotics competition with the First Lego League.

The robots were created and programed by students who spent at least four months crafting every turn, every throw, and every loop made by the devices.

“Lightning Trampolines” won the Robot Performance Award with a high score of 353.  They also won the mechanical design award, along with the Alliance competition, and advanced to the district level.

“Zombie Marshmallows” won the Gracious Professionalism award and advanced to districts.

“Wait What” came in 3rd in the robot game.
