Store clerk shot during robbery

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The owner of a Dayton market tells 2 NEWS one his employees was hit in the head and shot in the leg during an attempted robbery early Thursday.

It happened just before 2:00 a.m. at the Smithville Market on Smithville Road.

Dayton police say the two suspects were wearing hoodies and had their faces covered. At least one of the suspects had a 9mm handgun.

The clerk was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The store owner tells us the man should be okay.

It’s unclear if the suspects got away with anything.
