DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — Police are investigating after someone cut the locks to some storage units and then replaced them.

Officers met with the owner of Great Value Storage located at 426 North Smithville Road Friday around 5 p.m.

The owner said she had eight units within the storage facility with the locks cut and replaced with different, cheaper locks. She met with the renters, but they said none of their property was missing.

The owner told police the business has suffered in the past few months and believes someone is cutting the locks and replacing them with their own to come back and steal property at a later date.

Dayton Police are still investigating.
