WILMINGTON, Ohio (WDTN) – New sightings of a missing police dog from Wilmington have search teams looking in Greene County.

Wilmington police are searching for the department’s only K9 officer after it disappeared.

This story comes to us from our partners at the Wilmington News Journal. Karson was placed in a boarding facility while his handler was away.

Monday night, officials asked volunteers to stop looking for Karson. They believe the scores of volunteers might be scaring him into hiding.

But there are now new reports Karson might be in Greene County. An update from Wilmington police says signs will be posted to warn residents to be on the lookout.

Police said Karson has a scar across his nose and a bald spot on his tail. He looks similar to a German Shepherd but has much shorter hair.

If you’ve seen him call 937-382-3833 or call Xenia police.

You can keep up with the search by checking the Wilmington News Journal.
