Woman accused of stealing Christmas lights from home

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A woman was arrested for reportedly stealing Christmas lights from a Dayton home.

Police were called to the 300 block of Grove Avenue Saturday around 8:30 a.m.

The victim told police a woman came onto her porch and stole extension cords and Christmas lights from her home. The victim said the suspect put the items in a metal shopping cart and fled the scene.

Police said they caught up with the suspect a block over from where the theft took place.

Nicki Carter, 37, was arrested on charges of theft and booked into the Montgomery County Jail. Carter is expected in court Monday.
