Logan Co. crash claims life of driver

BELLEFONTAINE, Ohio (WDTN) — OSP troopers are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of a 63-year-old man.

The crash happened after 7 a.m. Sunday on U.S. 33 just northwest of County Road 5.

According to troopers, 63-year-old Jay Garcia drove his silver 2001 Chevrolet Monte Carlo off the left side of the road into the median and struck a guardrail.

Garcia was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Troopers said alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
