NEW CARLISLE, Ohio (WDTN) — A Clark County superintendent has been suspended.

According to Assistant Superintendent Paula Crew, the Board of Education voted to suspend Superintendent Brad Martin without pay. The Board is moving forward to terminate Martin.

Crew has now been appointed by the Board as Interim Superintendent.

Martin can request a hearing regarding the termination of his contract.

The Board said at this time they are not able to comment further on Martin’s termination pending the on-going criminal investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of BCI.

According to documents from the Board, Martin is accused of spending more than 100 days at a Casino when he told the district he was sick. He’s also accused of taking money meant to purchase i-Pads for the district, and taking student donations and other money meant for support groups like boosters.
