DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The University of Dayton has named who will head up the search for a new university president.

An executive committee of the board of trustees says David Yeager will chair the committee to find Daniel Curran’s successor.

“If I could choose one word that describes the role of a trustee, that would be stewardship, and David Yeager exemplifies that description as well as anyone I’ve ever met,” said Steve Cobb, chair of the board of trusteest. “He is a consummate professional, highly responsible and has a high degree of wisdom and experience. The board of trustees has a great deal of faith in him, and we look forward to Dave taking the reins on this extremely important endeavor.”

Yeager will lead a 17 member search committee including a cross-section of campus representatives and the Dayton community.

The search firm Isaacson, Miller will assist the committee.

Curran announced his plans in December to step down in June 2016.

He plans to take a one year sabbatical, then join the faculty as a professor.
