Yellow Springs officer pleads not guilty

YELLOW SPRINGS, Ohio (WDTN) – A Yellow Springs police officer facing criminal charges was in court Wednesday.

Sergeant Naomi Penrod pleaded not guilty in Greene County court to misdemeanor charges of assault, interfering with rights and disorderly conduct.

The judge also granted the other party in this case a protection order.

Penrod is accused of grabbing the wrist of a resident, trying to gain control of a camera.

Officers were trying to serve civil papers to the resident at the time when the resident said she was going to record the proceedings.

Penrod is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.
