DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – One phone call to Dayton police ended with multiple arrests and the discovery of stolen property.

Police responded to a home in the 1300 block of Wesleyan Road Wednesday after the caller saw someone unloading televisions from a pickup truck and changing the license plates.

Police say a known burglar on probation lives there.

They ended up arresting 5 adults and 2 teenagers. Officers took televisions, a safe, laptops, tablets and a handgun from the house.

They believe at least some of the property came from a home on Ravenwood Avenue. A victim there told police strangers came knocking on his door, made up a story about why they were there, then left.

Police believe they returned later to burglarize the house. Two adults and a teenager were arrested for the Ravenwood crime.

Charges are being filed including receiving stolen property.

Police want you to call them should a stranger come knocking on your door under suspicious circumstances. They say you could be another victim otherwise.
