Greenville man pleads to child sex charge

GREENVILLE, Ohio (WDTN) – A Greenville man took a plea deal in a child sex case.

Bluebag Media reports that Daniel Brown will spend five years in prison for importuning.

A count of attempted rape was dropped as part of a plea deal.

Brown was charged in November after he was accused of attempting to have sex with a 12-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say the girl’s grandmother witnessed the attempt.

Brown must serve the entire five year sentence then will be on probation for another five years.

He must register as a Tier 2 sex offender every 180 days for the next 25 years.
