DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A man was taken away in handcuffs after an undercover drug investigation in Dayton.

Only 2 NEWS was there when officers executed a search warrant at a public housing complex Thursday.

Investigators arrested Deandre Echols, Jr. on two felony drug charges.

He is accused of selling heroin out of the Dayton Metropolitan Housing on Westdale Court.

“This is definitely an environment where there is a lot of families that live in public housing and the drug dealing that occurs around them is not very safe for them or their children because there is a lot of gun violence that occurs within the drug trade,” said Sgt. John Sullivan, Dayton Police Department.

The sergeant says the arrest is a step forward in efforts to shut down drug operations within public housing..
