DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton man is now charged with murdering his girlfriend.
A Montgomery County grand jury indicted Tabaree Thompson Shabazz, 41, on Friday.
He is charged with two counts of murder and a count of felonious assault.
Prosecutors say Shabazz beat Sheila Gibson, 45, to death inside her East Fourth Street home. The crime happened on July 11, 2014. Her body was not discovered until July 13 when officers were called to check up on her after neighbors became concerned.
A grand jury declined to indict Shabazz back in November, but new evidence presented to a new grand jury resulted in the indictments now.
A warrant is now out for Shabazz’s arrest. He is expected to be arraigned February 19.
