DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Don’t forget to ‘get your red on’ Friday. It is National Wear Red Day, kicking off American Heart Month.

One in three women die of heart disease and stroke. The Go Red for Women campaign is working to change that.

Organizers say 80 percent of cardiac events can be prevented with education and lifestyle changes.

The campaign asks that you wear red today to raise awareness.

Share your commitment by using the hashtag #DaytonGoRed today.

Visit the Go Red for Women campaign on line for more information and ways to take part in the campaign.
