DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton-based airline is growing its fleet here at home. The new planes going to PSA Airlines mean more jobs.
American Airlines picked PSA to operate 24 new Bombardier CRJ900 Nextgen aircrafts. The airline recently got a new training simulator to help prepare pilots.
Since June of last year they’ve added 19 new jets and 700 new employees. The company said today it plans to keep growing and adding new jets and new jobs.
“Every aircraft that we induct into this fleet brings about 10 pilots, 10 flight attendants, and at least 3 or 4 professional and technical jobs as well,” said PSA President Dion Flannery. “So it certainly does lead to more employment here locally and across our system where we fly.”
Flannery says they plan to start adding this newest set of jets to its fleet in November. He also says more jets can lead to more flights down the line.
According to Flannery the are already hiring about 60 pilots and 60 flight attendants monthly. To find out how you can visit their website.
