Dayton school bus driver held in jail

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A Dayton Public Schools bus driver accused of sexual misconduct made his first court appearance Thursday.

James Mays, Jr., 39, appeared in video arraignments at the Vandalia Municipal Court.

He is charged with a felony count of unlawful sexual conduct. Bond was set at $75,000. He is currently in the Montgomery County Jail.

The judge also ordered that Mays have no contact with his 15-year-old accuser and that DNA evidence be collected.

Mays was arrested Monday afternoon at the Dayton Public Schools’ bus barn.
