Springboro approves plan to move students

SPRINGBORO, Ohio (WDTN) – The Springboro Board of Education approves a solution to the district’s overcrowding problem.

Board members voted 3-2 to move all first graders under one roof at Clearcreek Elementary school. The school currently has not first graders.

“If you have 30 or 31 7 year old running around in a classroom, that’s tough, and then you’ve got 23, so from an instruction standpoint, this is the right decision,” said board president Charles Anderson.

He added that the move saves the district money and allows for more expansion in the future.

The president says the move will have a one-time cost of $175,000 plus an additional leasing cost for modules.

This will start next school year.
