Greene Co. deputies warn of impersonator

GREENE COUNTY, Ohio (WDTN) – The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is warning about someone impersonating a deputy.

Investigators say the man is calling people on the phone and claiming to be a deputy.

He then claims they have outstanding warrants for their arrests and they need to purchase re-loadable gift cards worth $1000 from a gas station in Beavercreek Township.

The sheriff’s office says it never calls people to collect money or tell people to buy gift cards to make a payment.

If you receive a suspicious call, let deputies know by contacting them at 376-5111.
