HARRISON TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – A long time eyesore is coming down in Harrison Township.

The old Dayton Executive Inn on Needmore Road is now being demolished.

Cranes were knocking down the walls immediately following the announcement Wednesday.

Declared as a public nuisance the hotel has stood empty for 7 years now.

A problem spot according to Montgomery County prosecutor, Mat Heck.

“Any type of vacant structure like this is a haven for criminals, drug usage, prostitution and other types of crime” said Heck.

All of the buildings on the property will be razed.

What will become of the property in the future is up in the air, but the township wants it to be a business that can generate tax revenue.

Demolition is expected to take about a month. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
