DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – A former Brookville firefighter was found guilty Wednesday of abduction and sexual imposition.
Prosecutors say Joshua Rawlins, 26, had an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl on several occasions.
They say some of the incidents occurred while he was on duty at the Brookville Fire Department.
Rawlins was ordered to formally resign from the fire department and have no contact with the department or his victim.
He is also now designated a Tier 1 sexual offender requiring him to register his address annually for 15 years.
“We are glad that this defendant will now be held accountable. This has been a trying time for the Brookville Fire Department as well as the victim and the community. I feel this is a fair resolution to all parties involved,” said Brookville Police Chief Doug Jerome.
Rawlins is scheduled for sentencing March 18.
