SUGARCREEK TWP., Ohio (WDTN) – The new Fresh Thyme Farmers Market will open at the end of March.

The store made the announcement on its Facebook page Wednesday.

Opening day is Wednesday, March 25 at 7:00 a.m.

The new grocery is located in the 4300 block of Feedwire Road in Sugarcreek across from the Cornerstone development.

Fresh Thyme is the latest grocery to enter the ever expanding grocery market in the Dayton region.

It arrives to compete with the Whole Foods now under construction in Washington Township.

Other recent additions to the grocery market include Costco and Earth Fare.

That is in addition to all the chain grocery stores in town and the homegrown Dorothy Lane Market.

The president of the Ohio Grocers Association recently told 2 NEWS that there is plenty of room for all the stores to thrive.

“Specialty markets are growing nationwide. Prepared foods and organic foods are top of mind for Ohio consumers. Competition is good for consumers and creates more options for quality foods in the Dayton Region,” said Fred Pfeiffer, Ohio Grocers Association.

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is known for its organic foods. provides commenting to allow for constructive discussion on the stories we cover.
