Restaurant diner target of theft suspect

BEAVERCREEK, Ohio (WDTN) – Beavercreek police hope you can help them identify a woman who they say used a stolen credit card.

Police say the card was stolen from the purse of a diner at The Greene in January. Police said the victim’s purse was hanging from her chair when someone swiped her wallet.

Police say the woman in the surveillance photo used the card at two locations in Kettering to purchase gift cards and get a cash advance.

The man in the surveillance photo accompanied her both times.

Call the Beavercreek Police Department at 937-426-1225 or its tip line at 937-320-7393 if you recognize the suspects in this case.

2 News asked police for some advice on how you can avoid being a victim like this. They offered five tips..

  1. Keep purses in your field of sight.
  2. Keep them zipped.
  3. Don’t hang a purse on a chair where others can access it.
  4. Be aware of your surroundings.
  5. Watch for suspicious behavior.
