State patrol crackdown nets hundreds

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol released the results of its 6-State Trooper Project.

The traffic crackdown was conducted from Friday, February 20 through Sunday, February 22.

The patrol issued the following:

  • 322 speeding tickets
  • 18 safety belt violations
  • 8 OVI arrests

The Kentucky and Michigan state patrols joined Ohio in the enforcement project along Interstate 75.

“It is crucial to the safety of our motorists that we take speeding, impaired driving and safety belt use seriously,” said Colonel Paul Pride, Patrol superintendent. “Far too many people lose their lives traveling on our roadways.”
