DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) Winter doesn’t seem to be giving up any time soon. Many areas woke up with three to five inches on the ground. A few spots saw six inches.
Temperatures have warmed near freezing through the central and southern Miami Valley allowing some very light rain to form in pockets of Montgomery county.
The National Weather Service in Wilmington a has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the northern half of the Miami Valley until Sunday at 10pm, and a Winter Weather Advisory in effect for Montgomery, Preble and Greene counties until Sunday at 10 p.m. Butler, Warren and Clinton counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory until 3 p.m.
“Right now the heaviest precipitation has tapered off. We have a few pockets of light snow and even some light rain in Montgomery county,” says Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings “However there’s another band of light snow in central Indiana that’s heading this way.”
“The light snow in eastern Indiana may give us an additional inch of snow on the ground but everything will come to an end later this evening,” Hastings says.
