DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Another winter storm is heading toward the Miami Valley. While this one will bring more snow it looks like the heaviest snow will fall along and south of I-71.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning effective at noon Wednesday for Warren and Clinton counties until 1 p.m. Thursday. These areas may pick up three to six inches of snow and maybe more.
“The northern Miami Valley may only see one to two inches while the southern half will pick up the most,” says Storm Team 2 Meteorologist Tara Hastings.
A Winter Storm Watch will be in effect for Greene County and Butler County Wednesday afternoon.
“There’s going to be a tight gradient of snowfall amounts the farther south of Dayton you travel. This means the northern part of one county may see three or four inches more than the southern part of the county,” Hastings says.
Storm Team 2 says the precipitation will start as rain or a wintry mix Wednesday morning, then shift to snow.
