Cooking french fries spark apartment fire

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Dayton firefighters say 13 people were affected by a fire at their apartment complex Thursday afternoon.

Crews were called to the 3700 block of East Cornell Woods Drive just after 2:00 p.m.  Flames were shooting through the roof when they arrived.

They say at least four people lived in the units that burned.  Nine more were chased out.

Investigators say the fire started while a renter was cooking french fries in grease.

No one was hurt.

The American Red Cross is helping the victims of this blaze.
