Maricopa County, Arizona (WDTN) – 2 NEWS uncovered new information about the arrest of former Dayton Dragons player and current Reds prospect Tanner Rahier.
Rahier was arrested Saturday in Maricopa County, Arizona. That’s near the Reds spring training facility in Goodyear.
He’s now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, assault and disorderly conduct.
According to a police report, Rahier and his girlfriend were arguing over a bar tab. At one point, police say Rahier grabbed a rock and hit his girlfriend in the head. She fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
She was later treated at a hospital.
He played in 223 games over the last two years as the starting third baseman for the Dragons. He’s not expected to return to the team this year.
Rahier batted 238 last season with 9 home runs and 54 RBI.
The Reds have not commented on his arrest.
